HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 25-1987RESOLUTION NO. 25-87 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION COMMENDING LOUIS MARTIN WHEREAS, Louis Martin has been a resident of South San Francisco for 35 years; and WHEREAS, he has served on the South San Francisco Planning Commission from March 13, 1979 to December 31, 1986; and WHEREAS, Mr. Martin was Chairman of the Commission during 1982; and WHEREAS, Lou has been a very conscientious Commissioner, particularly with his interest in landscaping, aviation, downtown revitalization and the development of the Westborough Community; and WHEREAS, during his tenure on the Planning Commission, he participated in many major decisions affecting the City's land use and[ future development including the General Plan revisions, the new Zoning Ordinance and numerous commercial, industrial and residential developments; and WHEREAS, he has had an outstanding career as an educator for the Jefferson Union School District and since his retirement has acted as a consultant to the District and enjoyed his cabin in the country; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby expresses appreciation to Louis Martin for his contribution to the City's progress and welfare through his services as a Planning Commissioner, by which he unselfishly gave his time interest and effort to advance and better this community, and by which he established a high standard of civic conduct worthy of emulation by those who desire to contribute to the welfare of this community. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a re§u]ar meeting held on the llth day of March , 1987 , by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers John "Jack" Drano, Richard A. Haff~, ~,J~ Nirnlnpulos, Roberta Cerri Teqlia, and Mark N. Addiego NOES: None ABSENT: None City Clerk
