CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING COUNTY
CLERK OF SAN MATEO COUNTY TO
RENDER SPECIFIED ELECTION SERVICES
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
as follows:
1. That the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo shall be,
and is hereby, requested to permit the County Clerk to render the services
hereinafter specified, relating to the conduct of the General Municipal
Election to be held within the City of South San Francisco on Tuesday, the 3rd
day of November, 1987.
2. That the election services requested by the City in connection with
the holding and conducting of the election are more particularly set forth
in Exhibit "A" attached.
3. That the City shall, and does hereby, accept and agree to comply
with the terms and conditions of the performance of the election services,
and the payments therefor, as set forth in Exhibit "A".
4. The County Clerk is further authorized and delegated to perform
the duties specified in Exhibit "A" for the purpose of the General Municipal
Election to be held within the City of South San Francisco on Tuesday, the
3rd day of November, 1987.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
regular meeting held on the 24th day of June , 1987 by
the following vote:

The County Clerk ~uill perform all legal actions and services for the conduct of
the election except the follo~uing:

Request the Board of Supervisors through the County Clerk to consolidate
uuith the Hovember 3rd election and request services of the County Clerk.
Deadline to request consolidation and services of County Clerk is 88 days
prior to the election or August ?. If a measure[s) is to be voted on, exact
wording of measure(s) must be filed by the §Bth day prior to election.
Hote. Cities o/ho have changed their municipal election date to
the Hovember Genera/ or the School Governin9 Board Elect/on

Board of Supervisor act/on. Hoa/ever, if the City is addin9

2. Iegal Publications:
All legal publications are the responsibility of the City Clerk including but
not limited to: Uotice of Election, Uotlce to File Arguments For or Against,
List of Uominees, etc.

3. Horn/nation Papers:
City Clerk is to issue, file and check all Homin=tion Documents.
IYote: P/ease see su99ested "Un/form Procedure Guidelines."
City Clerk is to certify List of Official Candidates (including number to be
elected, exact way each name is to appear on ballot and the ballot
designation to the County Clerk at least §1 days prior to election. The
deadline to file this certification is August 14.
$. City Clerk is to prepare and deliver to the County Clerk the ballot
pamphlet containing, if applicable, Ballot Heasure(s), Analysis of
Heasure(s), Arguments For or Against, Rebuttals thereto and Candidate's
Statements (Statements of Qualifications). Due date of this material at
the Office of the County Clerk, 40 Touter Road, San Hateo, is September 23.
6. City Clerk is to advise County Clerk if any bJrite-ln Candidate officially files
a Declaration of Candidacy. ~lotification is required as soon as possible,
but in no case immediately after the 14th day prior to the election or
October 20.
TERHS AMD COtlSIDERATIOM
This schedule shall be in effect for the performance of all services incident to
the preparation and conduct of the City of South San Francisco
Hunicipai Election consolidated with the Election to be held 19ovember 3.
except services listed as required by City Clerk.
In the event the County Is unable to perform services required under this
Agreement, as a result of employer/employee relation conditions, vendor
conditions or other conditions beyond the control of the County Clerk, the
County will be relieved of all obligations under this Agreement.
Consideration: In consideration of the performance of services and supplies
provided by the County Clerk, the City of South San Francisco
shall pay to 'the County Clerk a sum equal to the actual cost of such services
and supplies.
