CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION
FOR ONE TIME GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION,
CHILD DIVISION FOR DAY CAMP PROGRAMS AT
SPRUCE, MARTIN AND PONDEROSA SCHOOLS
WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of Education, Child Division
is making available one-time only grants, at a maximum of $4,000 per school
site, to be used as "seed" money to initiate new child supervision programs
at new sites; and
WHEREAS, the grants may be used for, but are not limited to, one month's
staffing costs, snacks, sports equipment, games, computers, and supplies; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Education has established procedures for the
submission of applications; and
WHEREAS, the application contains assurances the applicant must comply
with; and
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco will enter into an agreement with
the State of California for the use of funds related to the child supervision
program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that it hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an application for grant funding for child
supervision programs at Spruce, Martin, and Ponderosa Schools.
2. Certifies that the City understands the assurances and certification
in the application form.
3~ Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City to conduct any negotia-
tions, execute and submit all documents including but not limited to applications
and payment requests, which may be necessary in relation to the aforementioned
program.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
regular meeting held on the 8th day of July , 198 7 , by
the following vote:
