CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN OWNER PARTICIPATION
AND DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO, THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO AND NEVILLE H. PRICE AND ROSEMARY C.I. PRICE
(MODIFIED SHEARWATER DEVELOPMENT PROJECT)
WHEREAS, in furtherance of the objectives of the Community Redevelopment Law,
the Redevelopment Agency of the City of South San Francico has undertaken a pro-
gram for the clearance and reconstruction or rehabilitation of slum and blighted
areas in the City, and in this connection is engaged in carrying out a redevelop-
ment project known as the U.S. Steel Plant Site Redevelopment Project (herein-
after referred to as "Project"), in an area (hereinafter referred to as "Project
Area"), located in the City; and
WHEREAS, in furtherance of the implementation of the Project, the Agency has
undertaken various redevelopment activities consisting of survey and planning for
the Project, administration, and the adoption of a preliminary redevelopment plan
and contemplates further redevelopment activities consisting of the adoption of
a final redevelopment plan and the implementation thereof, and
WHEREAS, the Plan provides for the participation in the redevelopment of
certain parcels of property in the Project Area by the owners thereof if such
owners agree to such participation in conformity with the Plan, and
WHEREAS, Neville H. Price and Rosemary C.I. Price are the owners of certain
property situated within the Project Area; and
WHEREAS, the PropertY, as hereinafter defined, will be developed for office,
hotel, commercial, recreation and ancillary uses, through a combination of private
and public improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco must undertake a number of actions
relating to offsite improvements necessary for the project, including plan
approval, consideration of funding mechanisms, such as special assessment dist-
ricts and the provisions of general assistance to the Redevelopment Agency,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Owner Participation and
Development Agreement with the Owner for the financing, construction and develop-
ment of a proposal known as the Modified Shearwater Development Project, which
dele%es the Residential Component of the previously approved Shearwater Develop-
ment Project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution supersedes Resolution No. 260-85.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at an adj. regular
meeting held on %he 17th day of December , 19 86 , by the following vote:
