HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 201-1986 RESOLUTION NO. 201-86 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A POLICY WITH REGARD TO CHANGES FOR PARAMEDIC FIRE SERVICE TRANSPORT WHEREAS, the City Council considers Paramedic Fire Service Transport to be an important health and safety service provided by the City; and WHEREAS, The City Council is concerned about the impact Paramedic Fire Service charges have upon residents with low incomes, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that in collecting the Paramedic Fire Service Transport charges detailed in the Master Fee Schedule the following principles shall be applied: 1. Residents covered by Medical - The amount Medical pays shall be considered payment in full. 2. Residents covered by Medicare - The amount Medicare, and any other supplemental insurance coverage, pays shall be considered payment in full. 3. Residents who meet the qualifications for low income, as defined by the Community Development Block Grant Program guidelines {currently those whose incomes, when adjusted for household size, are below 50% of the median income) and who have no medical in- surance coverage - One half of the stated fee for the level of life support service received shall be waived. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at an adj. regular meeting held on the 17th day of December , 1986 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers John "Jack" Drago, Richard A. Haffey, Gus Nicolopulos, Roberta Cerri Teglia, and Mark N. Addiego NOES: None ABSENT: None
