CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING
PAUL DAVID ZIEMER
WHEREAS, Paul Ziemer was first employed as a South San Francisco Police
Officer on July 13, 1959 and retired on December 30, 1986 after twenty-seven
and one-half (27-1/2) years of service with the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, during this long term of service he served in the Investigation
Division, as a Motorcycle Officer, as the Permits and Licenses Officer and on
Patrol; and
WHEREAS, he has displayed his sense of fairness, and many times placed
the interests of the citizens of South San Francisco above his own, as demon-
strated by the twenty-eight (28) Letters of Commendation from both staff and
the community at large which he has received over the years; and
WHEREAS, Paul has attended more than twenty-nine (29) different schools
relating to police work and earned certificates of proficiency in all programs;
and
WHEREAS, he was an active member of the Police Officers Association; and
WHEREAS, Paul Ziemer has moved to Oroville where he is actively engaged in
beautifying his home and garden and enjoying his favorite hobbies of carpentry,
cooking and fishing; and
WHEREAS, he has helped protect the City of South San Francisco for many
years, and his dedication to justice, fairness and high morals are in the
highest tradition of the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to express appreciation to Paul David
Ziemer for his contribution to the South San Francisco Police Department and
the City of South San Francisco in general,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that it does hereby express appreciation to Paul David Ziemer for his
dedicated services to the City of South San Francisco and does order this Resolu-
tion incorporated in the official records of the City as this Council's expression
of appreciation and its wishes for his long and happy retirement.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at aregular
meeting held on the 25th day of February , 1987, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers John "Jack" Drago, Richard A. Haffey, Gus Nicolopulos,
and Mark N. Addiego
