CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING
JEAN WOODSIDE SPROUSE
WHEREAS, JEAN WOODSIDE SPROUSE, who faithfully served the City and
people of South San Francisco for 21 years, is retiring on July 7, 1986;
and,
WHEREAS, Jean be§an employment with the City on November 1, 1964, as
a Secretary in the Police Department; and,
WHERAS, Jean has demonstrated her abilities throughout the City, having
worked for the Police, Fire, Personnel, and Community Development departments;
and
WHEREAS, Jean is known for her cheerful greetings and friendly conver-
sation with both co-workers and visitors to City Hall; and
WHEREAS, Jean has been actively involved in our community, including
serving as president of the Altar Guild for Aldersgate Methodist Church and
as president of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority; and
WHEREAS, Jean's Thursday evening Tupperware parties are certain to become
the "talk of the town," and
WHEREAS, Jean's trips to Eugene, Oregon, to visit children and grand-
children will surely increase in frequencyand duration; and
WHEREAS, Jean's "Road Warrior" experiences recently acquired by driving
Winnebago's will help to clear her path; and
WHEREAS, her devotion to duty and the quality of her services have been
of great benefit to the City and because of this the City Council desires
to commend her and express appreciation to her;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that it does hereby express appreciation to JEAN WOODSIDE
SPROUSE for her dedicated services to the City of South San Francisco
and does order this Resolution incorporated in the official records of the
City as this Council's expression and its wishes for her long and happy
retirement.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 25th day of June
1986, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark N. Addiego, Richard A. Haffey; and
Roberta Cerri Teglia
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman John "Jack" Drago
