HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 242-1985 BE IT Francisco, that: WHEREAS, plans and specificatiions providing improvement work have been sqbmitted, which specifications are entitled: RESOLUTION No. 242-85 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AUTEORIZING THE WORK AND CALLING BIDS FOR LINDEN AVENUE STREET LIGHT IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT NO. ST-83-1 RESOLVED by the City CouNcil of the City of South San for certain plans and LINDEN AVENUE STREET LIGHT IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. ST-83-1 and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to approve said plans and specifications, authorize the work and call for sealed proposals; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that: 1. The plans and specifications hereinbefore named and identified are hereby approved and the work therein provided is hereby authorized, and said plans and specifications are referred to and by this reference made a part hereof the same as if recited herein verbatim, i 2. The Purchasing Officer of said City is hereby directed to publish a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for said work in accordance with the plans and specifications hereinbefore named and identified and on file in the office of the Purchasing Officer. Notice shall be published a~ least twice not less than five (5) days apart in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of South San Francisco. The first publication of the notice shall be at least ten (10) days before the date of opening of the bids. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check payable to the order of the City of South San Francisco in an amount equal to not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid figure, or by a bond in said amount drawn in favor of said City and execuced by a corporate surety. Said check shall be forfeited by bidder, or said bond shall become payable to said City in case the lowest responsible bidder (or bidders) depositing the same do~s not, within the time set forth in said plans and specifications, enter into a contract 1 i with said City, the guaranteed by an undertaking in the (100%) of the sum bid, said undertak surety satisfactory to said City shall be accompanied by a labor and surety, also in a sum equal to one h amount of said bid for any bid faithful performance of which shall be amount of one hundred percent lng being that of a corporate Council, and which contract materials bond of a corporate undred percent (100%) of the i in an amount not exceeding $25,000; and in a sum as required by Civil Code Section 3248 for any bid in excess of $25,000. In case of a forfeiture, as provided for in the preceding sent.~nce, the defaulting bidder shall be liable to said City for an' additional expense to which it may reasonably be put in connec' ion with obtaining full and complete performance of the partic~[lar work of improvement with which this Notice to Bidders is conc~rned. 3.
