HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 256-1985 RESOLUTION NO. 256-85 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING STREET LIGHTING CONVERSIONS FROM MERCURY VAPOR/INCANDESCENT TO HIGH PRESSURE SODIUM WHEREAS, the California Utilities Commiision has authorized funding for a 1983 Energy Management Incentive Program; ahd WHEREAS, Pacific Gas & Electric Companyl ("PG&E") has allocated budgeted funds for Energy Management Incentives incldding the upgrading of customer owned street and highway lighting; and WHEREAS, conversion of street and/or hi!ghway lighting owned by the City of South San Francisco ("City") to more efficiient lighting qualifies for the incentive program and will result in lowerienergy costs; and WHEREAS, PG&E has offered to reimburseithe City for conversion of a total of about 177 street lamps owned by the City f~om Mercury Vapor Lamps and Incandescent Lamps to High Pressure Sodium Vapor Lamps as part of their incentive relamping program; NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that: 1. The relamping of 70 of the City's ~ercury Vapor Lamps and 107 Incandescent Lamps on Rate Schedule LS-2A or LS-2B as al)propriate to High Pressure Sodium Vapor Lamps is authorized to be accomplished by l;he City subject to reimbursement by PG&E as part of their incentive relamping program. 2. The City Manager is hereby authoriged to sign any and all documents necessary to accomplish said relamping andi' reimbursement and the City Clerk attest his signature thereto. 3. The Purchasing Officer is authorizied to request bids for the purchase of street light conversion Kits.
