HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 259-1985RESOLUTION N0259-85 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT GP-85-28 PURSUANT TO PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2364 - ADOPTED THE 10TH DAY OF OCTOBER~ 1985 WHEREAS, the proposed amendment (GP-85-28 ) to the City's General Plan is set forth in Resolution No. 2364 of the Planning Commision entitled "Resolution of the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco recommend- ing that the City Council adopt General Plan Amendment GP-85-28 Adding to the definition of the Planned Commercial Designation in-the Land Use Element a Resi- dential Density of Forty (40) units per acre for the U.S. Steel Redevelopment Arpa (Shearwater Project)" .... Attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference as though set forth verbatim; and WHEREAS, on the 10th day of October ' , 1985 , by Resolution No. 2364 the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco approved and recommended same to the Council as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto; and WHEREAS, the Council, pursuant to the Government Code of the State of California, duly set a hearing thereon for the 13th day of November , 19 85, notice of which was published in t~e Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of general circulation printed and circulated in the City of South San Francisco, and which date of publication was more than ten I10) days prior to the date set for said hearing, and the affidavit of said publication is on file in the office of the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, the Council did hold saic hearing on said date and did there- upon consider said amendment and the statements and communications made at said hearing; NOW THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED THAT: 1, The Council hereby adopts as an amendment to the City's General Plan the amendment recommended by the Planning Commission in Resolution No. 2364 designated GP-85-28 as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, thereby addinq to the definition of the Planned Commercial Designation in the Land Use Element a Residential Density of forty (40) units per acre tor the U. $. Steul Redevelopment Area (Shearwater Project). ~' 2. The said amendment be endorsed as adopted by this Resolution and the Mayor and City Clerk shall execute said encorsement~ I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 11th day of December , 19 85 , by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N. Addiego, Richard A. Haffey, Gus Nicolopulos; and Roberta Cerri Teglia NOES: Councilmember John "Jack" Drago ABSENT: None EXHIBIT "A" TO RESOLUTION NO. 259--85 RESOLUTION NUMBER 2364 RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMSSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL ADOPT GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT GP-85-28 ADDING TO THE DEFINITION OF THE PLANNED COMMERCIAL DESIGNATION IN THE LAND USE ELEMENT A RESIDENTIAL DENSITY OF FORTY (40) UNITS PER ACRE FOR THE U.S.STEEL REDEVELOPMENT AREA (SHEARWATER PROJECT). WHEREAS, on 10 October 1985, the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco held a d~ly advertised public hearing to consider this General Plan Amendment; and WHEREAS, the proposed General Plan Amendment is in accordance with Section 65350 et seq. of the Cakifornia Government Code; and WHEREAS, an Environmental Impact Report was previously certified for this project in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, as amended; and WHEREAS, the proposed General Plan Amendment will result in a project which will provide needed ho'~sing in the City of South San Francisco. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that che Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco hereby recommends that the City Council adopt General Plan Amendment GP-85-28 as described in the attached narration (Exhibit "A"). I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was introduced and adopted by the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco at the regular meeting held on the lOth day of October , 1985, by the following vote: AYES: Vice-Chair Wendler, Commissioners Getz, Boblitt, and Agee. Smith- Secretary to the Planning Commission of the City of south San Francisco EXHIBIT "A" (Add underlined wording to the definition of planned commercial in the land use element of the general plan adopted by the City Council on 27 June 1985). General Plan Designation: Planned Commercial - Includes large, commercial planned unit developments and mixed commercial/residential uses, including office parks, hotels and motels with fifty one (51) or more rooms, non-fast food resturants, gasoline service stations, research and development uses, and high rise apartment or condominium residential uses. The benchmark density of residential ~se in this district should not exceed thirty (30) dwelling units per net acre of land except for the U.S. Steel Redevelopment Area (Shearwater Project) where the benchmark density of residential uses should not exceed forty (40) dwelling units per net acre of land.
