CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A SPECIAL
ELECTION TO FILL THE VACANCY IN
THE OFFICE OF THE CITY TREASURER
(Government Code Section 36512)
WHEREAS, on November 5, 1985 at t~e regular Municipal Election, John Bonalanza
was elected City Treasurer; and
WHEREAS, John Bonalanza was sworn in as the City Treasurer on November 22, 1985
and passed away on the morning of November 24, 1985; and
WHEREAS, the position of Treasurer of t~e City of South San Francisco is now
vacant as a result of Mr. Bonalanza's passirg; and
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 36512 requires t~e City Council, within t~irty
days from the commencement of a vacancy in (n elected office to either fill the
vacancy by appointment or call a special election to fill said vacancy; and
WHEREAS, it is now necessary to call for a special election to fill said vacancy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco does hereby call for a special election to be held on Tuesday, April 8,
1986, for the purpose of filling the vacancy in t~e office of the City Treasurer
pursuant to Government Code Section 36512.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to procure
all supplies and make all arrangements necessary for the proper conduct of said
election and is hereby directed to conduct said election in accordance with State
law, including but not limited to the applicable portions of the Elections Code
and Government Code.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at an adj. reqular
meeting held on t~e 18th day of December , 1985 , by the following
