CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO
MAKE DETERMINATION OF DISABILITY FOR PUBLIC
EMPLOYEES AS PRESCRIBED BY STATE LAW
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco as
follows: I
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco (hereinafter "Agency"), is a con-
tracting agency of the Public Employees' Retirement System; and
WHEREAS, the Public Employees' Retirement Law requires that a contracting
agency determine whether an employee of such agency is disabled for purpose of
the Public Employees' Retirement Law and whether such disability is "industrial"
within the meaning of such Law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined Upon legal advice that it may dele-
gate authority to make such determinations to the incumbent of the position of
City Manager.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that it does hereby delegate to the incumbent of the position of City
Manager, authority to make determiations under Section 21023.(c) of the Government
Code, on behalf of the Agency, of disability and whether such disability is indus-
trial and to certify such determinations and a~l other necessary information to
the Public Employee's Retirement System, and said incumbent is further authorized
to make applications on behalf of Agency for disability retirement of employees
and to initiate requests for reinstatement of such employees who are retired for
disability.
I hereby certify that the foregoing ResOlution was regularly introduced and
adopted by %he City Council of %he City of ~outh San Francisco at a regular
meeting meld on t~e 8th day of January , 19 86 , by the following
