CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING GENERAL PLAN
AMENDMENT GP-85-29 PURSUANT TO
PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLIJTION NO.
2366 - - ADOPTED THE 14TH
DAY OF NOVEMBER 19R5
WHEREAS, the proposed amendment (GP-85-29 ) to the City's General Plan
is set forth in Resolution No. 2366' of the Planning Commision entitled
"Resolution of the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco recommend-
ing that the City Council adopt General Plan Amendment GP-85-29 amendinQ the defi-
nition of the Retail Commercial Designation in the Land Use Element of the General
Plan to allow Residential and Commercial Mixed Use Development in Planninq Area.2."
Attached hereto as Exhibit '1" and incorporated herein by reference as though
set forth verbatim; and
WHEREAS, on the 14th day of November , 1985 , by
Resolution No. 2366 the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco
approved and recommended same to the Council as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto; and
WHEREAS, the Council, pursuant to the GOvernment Code of the State of
California, duly set a hearing thereon for the 8th day of January ,
1986 , notice of which was published in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of
general circulation printed and circulated in the City of South San Francisco,
and which date of publication was more thani ten (10) days prior to the date set
for said hearing, and the affidavit of said publication is on file in the office
of the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, the Council did hold said hearing on said date and did there-
upon consider said amendment and the statements and communications made at
said hearing;
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED THAT:
1. The Council hereby adopts as an amendment to the City's General Plan
the amendment recommended by the Planning Commission in Resolution No. 2366 .
designated GP-85-29 as set forth in Exhibiit "1" attached hereto, thereby
amending the definition of the Retail Commencial Designation in the Land Use
Element of the General Plan to allow Residenitial and Commercial Mixed Use Develop-
ment in Commercial Zone Districts in Planniniq Area 2.
2. The said amendment be endorsed as ad)opted by this Resolution and the
Mayor and City Clerk shall execute said endorsement.
I hereby certify that the foregoing ResOlution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City Council of the City of S)outh San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the 22nd day of January 19 86 by the following

RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY
COUNCIL ADOPT GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT GP-85-29
AMENDING THE DEFINITON OF THE RETAIL COMMERCIAL
DESIGNATION IN THE LAND IUSE ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL
PLAN TO ALLOW RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL MIXED USE
DEVELOPMENT IN PLANNING iAREA 2
WHEREAS, on November 14, 1985, the Planning Commission of the
city of South San Francisco held & duly advertised public hearing
to consider this General Plan Amendment; and
WHEREAS, the proposed General Plan Amendment is in accordance
with Section 65350 et seq. of the iCalifornia Government Code; and
WHEREAS, Negative Declaration iNo. 525 has been prepared for
this project in accordance with the California Environmental
Quality Act, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the proposed General !Plan Amendment will result in a
project which will provide needed lhousing in the City of South San
Francisco.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of
the City of South San Francisco hereby recommends that the City
Council adopt General Plan Amendment GP-85-29 as described in the
attached narration (Exhibit "A").

EXHIBIT "A"
(Add underlined wording to the definiitlon of Retail Commercial in
the Land Use Element of the General Pilan adopted by the City
Council on June 27, 1985).
Retail Commercial: Includes retail s~les, services, offices,
neighborhood and community shopping cienters, grocery stores, fast
food restaurants, banks, motels with lfifty (50) or less rooms, and
gasoline service stations. Residentiial/commercial mixed use
developents may be allowed in Planninig Area 2.
