HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 68-2011 RESOLUTION NO. 68 -2011 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AWARDING A BID TO OLIN CORPORATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE SOLUTION IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $315,000 WHEREAS, staff recommends the purchase of sodium hypochlorite solution from the lowest responsible bidder, Olin Corporation, in an amount of $0.688 per gallon; and WHEREAS, the sodium hypochlorite is used to process the effluent prior to its discharge to the bay to kill bacteria in accordance with the Regional Water Quality Control Board; and WHEREAS, the WQCP's budget is funded through the Sewer Enterprise Fund 710; and WHEREAS, the WQCP's proposed budget for fiscal year 2011 -2012 has an allocation of $315,000 for the purchase of the sodium hypochlorite; and WHEREAS, South San Francisco's share of the cost is (68 %) at $214,200 and San Bruno's share is (32 %) at $100,800. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby awards a bid to Olin Corporation for the purchase of sodium hypochlorite solution in an amount not to exceed $315,000. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the Stn day of June 2011 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego and Pedro Gonzalez, Vice Mayor Richard A.
