CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
DONALD J. GRIMES
WHEREAS, Donald J. Grimes, a forty-two (42) year resident of the City of
South San Francisco has devoted six and one-half (6-1/2) years serving as a
Planning Commissioner for the City of South San Francisco, having been
appointed to the Planning Commission on June 5, 1978; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure he served as Vice-Chairman in 1980 and Chairman
in 1981, participated in major decisions affecting the City's land
use such as the Terrabay hearings and the General Plan Land Use and Housing
Element hearings; and
WHEREAS, aside from his busy day of private employment dealing with
medical supplies, Donald finds time to pursue his other interests as a member
of the Shriners and Elks Club, as well as being an avid fisherman; and
WHEREAS, Donald J. Grimes has contributed to the welfare of this community
through his activities and participation as a Planning Commissioner, and the
City Council desires to express appreciation to him for said services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that the Council does hereby express appreciation to Donald J.
Grimes for his contribution to the City's progress and welfare through his
services as a Planning Commissioner, through which he unselfishly gave his
time, interest and effort to advance and better this community, and by which
he established a high standard of civic conduct worthy of en~lation by those
who desire to contribute to the welfare of this community.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
regular meeting held on the 13th day of February · 1985, by
the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark N. Addiego, Emanuele N. Damonte, Richard A. Haffey;
and Roberta Cerri Teglia
