A RESOLUTION APPROVING GENERAL PLAN
AMENDMENT GP~84-27 PURSUANT TO
PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO.
2353 - AMENDMENT TO LAND USE
ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN
WHEREAS, the proposed amendment (GP~84-27) to the City's General Plan
is set forth in Resolution No. 2353 of the Planning Commission entitled
"A Resolution of the South San FrancisCo Planning Commission ReCommending
that the City Council amend the Land Use ~lemen~ of ~he General Plan Lo Medi~m~
Density on Miller Avenue, retain High Density Residential on the north side of
Grand Avenue and retain Planned Commercial on ~he west side of Spruce Avenu~ ~
south of Miller Avenue, in the area generally bounded, by Grand, Orange, and Spruce
Avenues, and lamarack Lane."
attached hereto as Exhibit 1~ and
WHEREAS, on the 13th day of December , 1984 , by Resolution
No. 2353 the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco approved
and recommended same to the Council, as set forth in Exhibit I attached hereto,
and
WHEREAS, the Council, pursuant to the Government Code of the State of
California, duly set a hearing thereon for the 23rd day of January ·

1985 , notice of which was published in the "Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper
of general circulation printed and circulated in the City of South San Francisco,
and which date of publication was more than ten (10) days prior to the date set
for said hearing, and the affidavit of said publication is on file in the
office of the City Clerk, and
WHEREAS, the Council did hold said hearing on said date and did there-
upon consider said amendment and the statements and communications made at
said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, iT IS ORDERED THAT:
1. The Council hereby adopts as an amendment to the Cityis General
plan the amendment recommended by the Planning Commission in Resolution No.
~ 2353 , designated G~.84-27 , as set forth in Exhibit1
attached hereto, thereby amending the Land Use Element of the General Plan to
Medium Density on Miller Avenue, retain Hlgh Uenslty Mesid~n~ial on ~he north
side of Grand Av6. and retain Planned Commercial on the west side of Spruce Ave
south of Miller Avenue.
2. The said amendment be endorsed as adopted by this Resolution and the
Mayor and City Clerk shall execute said endorsement.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
regular meeting held on the 27th day of February , 1985 ,
by the following vote:

THAT THE CITY OOUNCIL AMEND THE LAND USE Ew,F~,~NT OF TP~ GENERAL PLAN TO
~EDIUM DENSITY ON MIT,T,ER AVENUE, RETAIN HIGH DENSITY RESIDFiNTIAL ON THE NORTH
SIDE OF GRAND AVENUE, AND RETAIN PLANNED COM~:~CIAL ON THE ~ SIDE OF
SPRUCE AVENUE SOUTH OF ~ILLER AVENUE, IN THE AREA GENERALLY BOUNDED BY GRAND,
ORANGE, AND SPRUCE AVENUES, AND TAMARACK LANE.
WHEREAS, on November 8, 1984 and December 13, 1984, the South San Francisco
Planning Conmission held advertised public hearings on General Plan Amendment GP-
84-27; and
~{EREAS, said General Plan Amendment hearings were initiated as a result of
Interim Ordinance No. 925-84; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Conmission considered various alternate land use designations
for this area including low, medium and high density residential for all or portions
of this area; and
I~EREAS, the Planning Co~ssion made the following findings:
1. The proceedings for the proposed General Plan Amendment GP-84-27 were
conducted in accordance with Section 65350 et seq. of the California
Government Code.
2. Negative Declaration No. 471 was prepared in accordance with the California
Environmental Quality Act.
3. The proposed General Plan Amendment will not be adverse to the public
health, safety, and general welfare of the conmunity.
4. The proposed General Plan Amendment will not be adverse or detrimental to
the surrounding properties and improvements.
5. The proposed sunendment to the Land Use Elament is consistent with the other
goals, objectives, policies, and elements of the C~neral Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RF.SOLVED by the South San Francisco Planning Comuission
that the attached General Plan .Amendment GP-84-27 (Exhibit "A") is hereby reconrnended
to the City Council for adoption. ~
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was introduced and adopted by
the Planning Commission of the. City of South S~n Francisco at the regular meeting
held on the 13th day of December, 1984, by the following vote:
