HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 50-1985RESOLUTION NO. 50-85 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DETERMINING THAT A PROJECT AREA COMMITTEE SHALL NOT BE FORMED IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO U.S. STEEL PLANT SITE WHEREAS, on January 24, 1985, the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco selected and designated the boundaries of the Redevelop- ment Project Area for the South San Francisco U.S. Steel Plant Site Redevelop- ment Project, approved a Preliminary Plan for the redevelopment of the Project Area, and authorized submission of the Preliminary Plan to the South San Francisco Redevelopment Agency; and WHEREAS, the California Community Redevelopment Law (Health and Safety Code, Section 33000, et seq.) requires that a project area committee be formed if a substantial number of iow and moderate-income families will be displaced by the Project; and WHEREAS, the California Community Redevelopment Law also requires, in the event the Project will not displace a substantial number of low- and moderate- income families, the South San Francisco Redevelopment Agency to consult with and obtain the advise of residents and community organizations, and further requires that the proposed Redevelopment Plan be provided to such residents and community organizations prior to submitting it to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the South San Francisco U.S. Steel Plant Site Redevelopment Project, for which the South San Francisco Redevelopment Agency is preparing a Redevelopment Plan will not displace any low- and moderate-income families because there are no residents in the Project Area to be displaced. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco as follows: 1. The City Council finds and determines that the South San Francisco U.S. Steel Plant Site Redevelopment Project will not displace any low- and moderate-income families, and that formation of a project area committee is not required prior to the adoption of the Redevelopment Plan. The City Council further determines that a project area committee shall not be formed in connection with the Project. 2. The South San Francisco Redevelopment Agency is hereby authorized and directed to consult with and obtain the advice of property owners and community organizations (if any) within the Project Area, and to provide such owners and organizations with the Redevelopment Plan prior to its submission to the City Council.
