CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
that:
A RESOLUTION APPROVING UNIT DETERMINATIONS
AND~MODIFICATIONS AS MADE BY THE CITY
~/~NAGER PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 3.08 OF THE
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
WHEREAS, the Municipal Employee Relations Officer, by notice entitled
"Notice to Affected Employees of Unit Modification as Made by the City
Manager Pursuant to Municipal Code Chapter 3.08" dated rtarch 7~ 1985
notified Unit #1 Wage Committee; Unit Number 2, 3 and 9 AFSCME, Local 1569;
Unit #4, International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 39; Unit #5, South
San Francisco Police Association; Unit #6, International Association of Fire
Fighters, Local 1507; Unit #7 Wage Committee; Unit #8 Waqe Committee, of the
Municipal Employee Relations Officer's determination and modification to be
made to Employee Unit #1 by unit and job classification title, and did attach
thereto the list of composition of s6id Unit #1 before and after modification
of s6id Unit, and further set forth his availability to discuss modification of
Unit #1 and to consult with employee organizations the period of time commencing
with receipt of said notice to and including March 27, 1985 and did further
advise the named organizations that the Municipal Employee Relations Officer
would transmit his findings, recommendations and unit determinations to the
City Council for Council's appropriate action on March 27, 1985 a copy of
which notice is on file in the offices of the City Manager and the City Clerk;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said notice, the respective employee organizations
representing City employees have had the opportunity to meet with the Municipal
Employee Relations Officer and/or representative to discuss the proposed
modification of Unit #1; and
WHEREAS, the appropriate notice period has now passed and the Municipal
Employee Relations Officer has transmitted his findings, recommendations and
the Units determined by his office to the City Council, which have been duly
con§idered by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED THAT:
1. The City Council does hereby approve, effective March 27, 1985
the Units determin6d by the Municipal Employee Relations Officer, which are
attached hereto as "Exhibit A" and incorporated herein by this reference as if
set forth verbatim, same being those set forth in the Staff Report dated
March 27, 1985 to the Honorable City Council, subject: Unit Determination,
a copy of which is on file in the offices of the City Manager and the City
Clerk.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at ar_e gu_tar
meeting held on the 27th day of March, 198,5, by the following vote:

CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE SALARY AND
BENEFITS FOR THE POSITION OF SECRETARY
TO THE CITY MANAGER BY AMENDING THE
UNIT #1 MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES MEMORANDUM OF
UNDERSTANDING FOR THE PERIOD JULY 1, 1984,
THROUGH JUNE 30, 1985.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that
the Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding with Unit #1 Management Employees
for the period July 1, 1984, through June 30, 1985, a copy of which is attached as
Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by this reference as if set forth verbatim, is
hereby accepted and approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized to
endorse on Page #1 of the signature page of said Memorandum of Understanding the
following:
"Approved by City Council Resolution No. 65-85
adopted March 27 1985."

AMENDMENT TO ~MORANDUMOF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN
THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND THE UNIT #1
MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES FOR THE PERIOD JULY 1, 1984,
THROUGH JUNE 30, 1985.
1, The City Council adopted the Job Specification for the newly' created position
of Secretary to the City Manager°' ~
2. On March 27, 1985, after properly posting notices to all interested parties and
affording, them the opportunity to meet and discuss the matter with the Citys'
Municipal Employee Relations Officer, Unit #1 was modified by Council action to
include the classification of Secretary to the City Manager.
3. The salary range for the position of Secretary'to the City Manage= has been
established.
4. In order to appropriately establish the salary and benefits for the position of
Secretary to the City Manager, the representatives of the City amd the represen-
tatives of Unit #1 have met.and confered and have agreed to amend the Unit ~i
Management Employees. Memorandum of Understanding for the period July Is 1984.
through June 30, 1985.
It is therefore agreed that the Memorandum of Understanding between.the City of
South San Francisco and the Unit #1 Management Employees for the period July 1~
1984, through June 30, 1985 shall be amended to include the following classifica~
tion and salary range:
