HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 3895-1964RESOLUTION NO. 3895 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REQUEST FOR A CONFERENCE WITH THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION OF SAN FRANCISCO REGARDING DESIGN AND OPERATIONAL CRI- TERIA FOR THE PACIFIC AIR COMMERCE CENTER AND RELATED MATTERS FOR THE PURPOSE OF ABATING THE JET NOISE NUISANCE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that: 1. The City Attorney be, and he hereby is, authorized to arrange for a conference between the City Council and the Public Utilities Commission of the City of San Francisco for the purpose of discussing and determining a method of includ- ing in the Pacific Air Commerce Center development plans, de- sign and operational criteria which will relieve the City of South San Francisco and its residents of the jet noise nuisance caused by the type of jet-powered planes now in operation and provide for the operation of supersonic jet planes in a manner that will prevent the imposition of any further nuisance. 2. The City Attorney arrange for a conference with con- sultants including Maurice A. Garbell in order to discuss and determine whether an expert in the field should be retained to aid the City in accomplishing the purpose set forth in Paragraph 1. 3. The ordinance proposed for adoption by the Cities of San Mateo County and the County of San Mateo, which provides for local regulation of land fill for the purpose of showing adequate control to forestall State regulation, not be acted on by the City Council until the conference hereto- fore authorized is held. 4. The action of this City Council and the reasons therefor be communicated to the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County, the City Councils of the respective cities of San Mateo County, State Senator Dolwig, Assembly- man Ryan and Assemblyman Britschgi. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of regular March the City of South San Francisco at a meeting held on the 16th day of 19 64 by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Patrick E. Ahem, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca, G. J. Rozzi, and Frank Bertucelli NOES, " None ABSENT, " None ATTEST: City Clerk
