HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 3898-1964RESOLUTION NO. 3898 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "LIBRARY SITE ANNEXATION" AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOBED ANNEXATION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO: 1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been initiated by the Council of the City of South San Francisco, on its own motion, to annex to the City of South San Francisco all that uninhabited territory situate in the County of San Marco, State of California, hereby designated as "Library Site Annexation" and described as follows: SITE ~gNEXATION DESCRIPTION ~nexation of Proposed Library Site (formerly California Gol~ Club Property) and a Portion of i~est Orange Avenue BEGINNING at the intersection of the Westerly line of the lands described in the Deed from California Golf Clubt a non-profit California corporation, to City of South San Francisco~ a municipal corporation and political subdivision of the State of California, dated March 28s 1958 and recorded November 13s 1957 in Book 3307 of Official Records of San Mateo County at page 21 (97112-P)~ commonly known as ~;~est Orange Avenues with the Northwesterly line of Lot 163, as designated on that certain map entitled "SOUTH';~OODMAP NO. 3, SOUTH SAHFRANCISCO~ CALIF.", which map was filed in the office of the Recorder of the County of San Marcos State of Californiat on March 8~ 1945 in Book 24 of Maps at page 40s said point of.intersection being located on the existing corporate limit line of the City of ~outh San Francisco, California~ as established by the SOUTHF~OOD NO. 2 ~RrNBX~TIO~ under City Ordinance 1~o. ~15s dated ~anuary 7s 19A~; thence North ~9° 33~ 30" East from said point of beginning_along said cor- porate limit line in an Easterly direction North 69~ 33~ 30" East across the existing 80-foot-wide right of way of ~est Orange Avenue; thence along the Easterly line of West Orange J, venue in a Northerly direction North 20° 31' [~est 35.85 feet~ said Easterly line of ~st Orange ~venue being the corporate limit line as established by the CLUB VIEW Ah'~EXJ.TION (California Golf Club) under City Ordinance No. ~88 dated March 18, 1963; thence continuing on and along said street right of way line Northeasterly along a tangent curve to the right~ having a radius of 170 feet~ a central angle of 32° 00', an arc length distance of 94.95 feet; thence North 11° 29' ~ast 262.23 feet; thence on and along a tangent curve to the lefts having a radius of 330 feet, a central angle of 13° 29'~ an arc length distance of 77.~8 feet; · thence North 2° 00' West 219.41 feet to the Southerly line of the Rancho Burl Buri ~ubdivision (File 94372-F) as filed for record on page 29, Book 25 at the office of the County Recorder; thence ~esterly along said line of Rancho Bari Bari Subdivision and corporate limit line as established by the Bari Bari ~nexation under City Ordinance No, 244~ dated March 8, 1948 and crossing ~;~est Orange ~enue South 79° 11' 20" ~lest 80,72 feet; thence leaving said corporate limit line in a Southerly_direction on and along the ~sterly line of ~st Orange ~enue South 2~ 00~ East 210.11 feet; thence on and along a tangent curve to the right having a radius of 270 feet~ a central angle of 13° 29~ an arc length distance of 63,54 feet; thence South 11° 29~ ~st 262.23 feet; thence on and along a tangen~ curve to the left hav- ing a radius of 230 feet, a central angle of 8~ 3~ 19"s an arc length distance of 26.39 feet to a point~ said point being the Northerly line of the South San Francisco Library site and West Orange ~.venue right of way line; thence leaving said ;:lest Orange Avenue, Northwesterly on the arc of a curve to the lefts tangent to the last mentioned curve at the last mentioned point~ having a radius of 25 feet~ a central angle of 105° 31~ 49"s an arc distance of 46,05 feet; thence South 89~ 33~ 30" }~est 140 feet; thence on a tangent curve to the lefts hav- ing a radius of 140 feets a central angle of 56° 53' 47"s an arc distance of 139,02 ~eet; thence South 34° 28t 30" Bast 355.09 feet to the existing corporate l~nit line of the City o2 South Gan Francisco~ Calt£ornta~ as established by the "~O~W~D S~ ~~TIO~' by Cit~ Council ~solutlon No, 271A dated Janu~ 29~ ~959; said corpor- ate l~it line being the Northwesterly line of the lands descried in the ~ed fr~ California ~lf Club of San ~anctsco~ a cor~ratton~ to South ~an ~anclsco Un~fted School D~strlct~ a unified school d~str~ct of. the County of 5an Mateo~ dated Au~st 1~ 1953 and recorded Au~s~ 20~ 1953 ~n ~ok 24~1 of Official ~cords of 5an ~ateo County at page 71~ ~590-L); thence along said North~terly line of ~ands descried ~n the ~ed recorded Au~st 20~ 1953 (1590-L) North 50~ 00~ 30" East 93,42 feet to the ~outhwesterly line of ~t 159 as dest~ated on the map entitled 'SO~W~D ~ ~O, 3"s a~ve men~ioned; ~henoe alon~ the general 5outh~sterly~ ';.~esterly and North~sterly line o2 said "~O~II~ ~ NO, 3"~ North 34° 28* 30" We~t 111,70 feet~ ~orth 5° 33t [~iest 101,65 feet and North 69° 33~ 30" Bast ~4.57 feet ~ said ~festerly line of 1:feet ~ge Avenue and the point of beginning, 3aid area containing 2,46 Acres more or less. Francisco. Such protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of the property affected, and the des- cription and the area of such property, in general terms. 5. The City Clerk of the City of South San Francisco is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of South San Fran- cisco, the city to which it is proposed to annex the afore- said territory, and also in the Advance-Star, a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City of South San Francisco, but in the County of Sah Mateo, California, the county in which is located the territory proposed to be an- nexed to the City of S~uth San Francisco, said publication to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing. 6. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory pro- posed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above said proceed- ings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to the Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the demignation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with the Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. 7. In the event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed is owned by a county, the City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of the county, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. 8. In the event there is, upon the land proposed to be annexed, a structural improvement owned, being acquired or leased by a county fire protection district, the said Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the governing body of such dist- rict, such notice to be sent not less than ten (10) days before the first public hearing upon such proposed annex- ation. 9. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in the manner required by law.
