HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 3980-1964 RESOLUTION NO. 3980 A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR SEALED PROPOSALS BUTLER ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, California, that WHEREAS, the said Council did, on the 18th day of May, 1964, adopt its Resolution of Intention No. ~943 to order the construction of subgrade preparation, embank- ments, e×cavation including removal of manholes, pipe, trees, shrubs, fences, gates, curbs, gutters, wood rail- ing, relocation of power pole, fire hydrants, removal and replacement of conduit, replacement of asphalt walk, con- structing pavement, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, driveways, catch basins, storm drain pipe and structures (including retaining walls), sanitary manholes, chain link fence, signs, monuments, redwood headerboards, driveway adjust- ments, raising sanitary and storm manhole frames and covers, outlet structures, guard rails, slope erosion, asphalt dikes, e×tending Central Fire Alarm System, installing fire alarm boxes, additions to existing water main and appurte- nances.in said City, all as more particularly described and set forth in said Resolution of Intention; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to publish once a week for two weeks in the South San Francisco Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper published and circulated in said City, a notice inviting sealed pro- posals or bids for the construction of said improvements, and referring to the plans and specifications on file in the office of said City, the first of which publications shall be at least fourteen days prior to the time fixed for opening bids. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check payable to the order of the City amounting to ten per cent of the bid, or by a bond in said amount and payable to said City signed by the bidder and a corporate surety or by the bidder and two sureties who shall justify before any officer competent to administer an oath, in double said amount and over and above all statutory exemptions. Said check shall be for- feited or said bond shall become payable to said City in case the bidder depositing the same does not, within fifteen days after written notice that the contract has been awarded to him, enter into a contract with the City. Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the City Manager of this City on or before 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the llth day of August, 1964, said time being not less than fourteen days from the time of the first publication of said notice. Bids will be publicly opened, examined and declared on said day and hour, and referred to and considered by the Council at its meeting at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on August 17, 1964.
