HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 4055-1964Annexation - Solomon-Mabie (Country Club Park) RESOLUTION NO. ~055 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY DE- SCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "SOLOMON- MABIE ANNEXATION (COUNTRY CLUB PARK)" AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS THERETO BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City of South San Francisco: 1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, a petition signed by owners of not less than one-fourth of the land in the here- inafter described territory, by area and by assessed value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the Coun- ty of San Mateo, was filed with the Council of the City of South San Francisco on the 17th of September, 1964, request- ing annexation of the hereinafter described territory to said City. 2. That the territory which the petitioners request be annexed to the City of South San Francisco and which said City and its Council propose to annex is situate in the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby desig- nated "Solomon-Mabie Annexation (Country Club Park)", and described as follows: All San certain real property situated in the nC.y of State of California, described as follows. at a point in the corporate limits line of the ~f South San Francisco, as established by ~rdinance adopted November 3, 1958, said point ~rsection of the Northeasterly lin~iof Alida .ck "A", as said Street. That the County Boundary Commission of San Mateo County, California, did in session duly assembled on Thursday, July 9, 1964, consider the proposed annex- ation boundaries of said Solomon-Mabie Annexation (Country Club Park), as above described, and as submitted to said Commission by the proponents of said annexation. 4. That Monday, November 2, 1964, at the hour of 8 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the un- inhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of South San Francisco, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear be- fore the Council of the City of South San Francisco and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to the City of South San Francisco. The pro- test must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annex- ation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected and the description and area of such property, in general terms. 5. The City Clerk of the City of South San Francis- co is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the "Enterprise-Journal", a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of South San Francisco, the city to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in the "Ad- ® vance Star", a newspaper of general circulation published outside in the City of South San Francisco, but in the County of San Mateo, California, the county in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of South San Francisco, said publication to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hear- ing. 6. The said City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annex- ation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed was assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above said proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to said Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. 7. In the event any land within the territory pro- posed to be annexed is owned by a County, the City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annex- ation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) daYs before the first public hearing on the proposed annex- ation. 8. In the event there is, upon the land proposed to be annexed to said City, a structural improvement owned, being acquired or leased by a county fire protection district, the City Clerk is directed to cause written me notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the governing body of such district, such notice to be sent not less than ten (10) days before the first public hearing upon such proposed annexation. 9. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to such other persons as may legally be entitled thereto, in the manner required by law. the City of South San Francisco at a meeting held on the 21st day of by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of regular Seotember , 1964, Patrick E.
