CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE OF
A GRADING PERMIT TO MERCK & CO., INC.
(MARINE PLANT)
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
South San Francisco that the Director of Public Works,
having filed a report of his recommendations of the
application of Merck & Co., Inc. (Marine Plant) for a
Grading Permit, the City Council hereby authorized the
City Clerk to issue to Merck & Co., Inc. (Marine Plant)
a Grading Permit to grade the property described as the
site shown on the map entitled "Marine Plant Site Pre-
paration Details Grading Plan Project No.309 Drawing No.
309-CD-2 ReVision B" prepared by Jacobs Engineering Com-
pany. Said Grading Permit shall provide that the grad-
ing be done in accordance with the applicant's plans,
title of which is hereinbefore recited, and the report
and recommendations of the Director of Public Works.
Said Permit shall contain provisions indemnifying and
holding the City, its elective officials, officers and
employees harmless from claims and further requiring con-
duction of the grading work in a manner that will not in-
jure the property in the vicinity of the land to be
graded.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall
collect the cost of defraying the expense of the examin-
ation and the report by the Director of Public Works in
the sum of Ten and no/lO0 Dollars ($ 10.00)
prior to issuing the Permit, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public
Works shall ascertain by inspection that said grading
is performed in accordance with the Permit and, upon
its completion, shall file with the City Clerk a report
stating the results of said inspection and certifying
that the grading has been performed in accordance with the
Permit.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of
the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the 19th day of Ocbober , 1964
by the following vote:

Cortesi, Andrew Rocca. and Guido J. Rozzi
