AND SPECIFiCATIONS, AUTHORIZING
T~ ~O~i( AND CALLIi<G BiDS FOR
CLEANING OF DIGESTERS - SEWAGE
TREATMENT PLANT
RESOLVED by tne City Council of tae City of South San
Francisco, California, that
WHEREAS: plans and specifications providina for cer-
tain improvement work have been submitted, which plans and
.specifications are entitled:
"Cleaning and disposal of solid and liquid
materials in Digesters #1, 2 and 3 - Sewage
Treatment Plant"
and,
W~i~AS~ the City Council desires no approve said plans
and specifications~ authorize the work and call for sealed
proposals;

!. The plans and specifications hereinbefore named and
identified are hereby approved and the wor~ therein provided
is hereby authorized, and said plans and sFecifications are
referred to and by this reference ma~e a part hereof the
same as if recitea ~zerein verbatim.

work in accoraance with the plans and specifications herein-
before named and identified and on file in the Office of the
Ci~ Cierk~ the first of whic~n publication shall be at least
ten (i0~) days prior to t~ne time fixed for openin$ bids. A

hereof as if set forth verbatim her.cit.
Ail proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's
or certified check, payable to the order of the City of South
San Francisco, in an amount equal to not less ~han ten per
cent (lOl) of the bid figure~ or by a bond in said amount
drawn in favor of said City and executed by a corporate
surety. Said check shall be forfeited by bidder, or said
bond shall become payable to said City in case the low-
.est responsible bidder (or bidders) depositing the same
does not, within' the time set forth in said plans and
specifications, enter into a contract with said City, the
faithful performance of which shall be guaranteed by an
undertaking in the amount of one hundred per cent (100~)
of the sum bid, said undertaking being that of a corporate
surety satisfactory to said City Council, and which con-
tract shall be accompanied by a labor and materials bond
of a corporate surety, also in a sum equal to one hundred
per cent (100~) of the amount of said bid, as required by
the provisions of Title I, Division 5, Chapter 3, of the
Government Code of the State of California. In case of a
forfeiture, as provided for in the preceding sentence, ~he
defaulting bidder shall be liable to said City for any
additional expense to which it may reasonably be put in
connection with obtaining full and complete performance of
the particular work of improvement with which this Notice
to Bidders is concerned.
3. Bids will b'~ received by the City of South San

of said City, City Hall, Grand Avenue, South San Francisco,

at or before the hour of 2=00 p.m.

said time not being less than ten (10) days from the first

examined and declared at said time and place and award will
thereafter be made by the City Council of said City to the
lowest responsible bidder or bidders, subject, however, co
the right of said City Council to reject any and all bids,
which right is hereby reserved.
I hereby'certify that the foregoing Resolution was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of

NOTICE IS t~REBY GIVEN that sealed bids for the furnishing
of materials for, and the porfOlUT~ance of, the public wo~k herein-
after described will be received by the City of South San Francisco,
California, a~ the office of the City 5[anaser of said city, City
Hall~ Grand Avenue, South San F~ancisco~ Czlifornia, at or before
tho hour of 2:00 o'clock p.m., on MO~Sy . ,
the llth day o'f January~ 1965~ ~~ said tinge being

notice. All bids will be publicly opened, examined ~nd declmrod at
said time and plmce. Award of contract will thereafter be made by
the City Council of said city to the lowest responsible bidder or
bidders, subject, however, to the right of s~id City Council to re-

The work hereinbefore referred to consists of the following:
Cleaning digesters #1, ~ & 3 and pumping liquid and solid
material to the la$oon and pumping liquidM back to Sewage
T~eatment Plant
Said work shall include the furnishing and supplying of all
'necessary labor and materials.
It is requested thmt all bids be submitted on both a unit and
group basis b~cause said city reserves the right to m~ke award of
contract on either a unit or group basis.
Ail said work is to be done at the p!~ces and in the p~rticular
locations, and in accordance with the ferns, sizes, dimensions, and
materials and to the lines ~nd grades, and in confo~nco to the pro-
files, detailed drawings, ~d s~cific~tlons th,ro£or which have
heretofore boon approved ~nd adopted b~ said City Council and ~hich
are presently on file in the office of tho City Clerk of said city.
Reference is hereby made to s~id plans, profiles, detailed drawings,
and specifications for further particulars, copies of which may be
procured from said City Clerk~upon tho m~hing of a deposit of
FIVE DOLLARS ($ 5.00 ) per sot, of which sum FIVE
]~JLLARS ($ ~.00 ) will b~ refunded upon the return of s~i~ p~ans
and specifications in good conditionwi'~./nSE'FEiq?Y-TWO (72) HOURS
after the bid date.

NOTICE IS HEREBY S!VEN that the City Council of said City has
heretofore established the prevailing wage scale for F~r diem rates
to be paid to all craftsmen and laborers in connection with the work
to be done pursuant to said plans and specifications, to which
reference~is hereby made for a full and detailed description thereof.
