CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE EL CAMINO
HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY BASEBALL TEAM
WHEREAS, the E1 Camino High School Varsity Baseball
Team won the North Peninsula League Championship during
the regular 1965 baseball season, and thereby won the right
to represent the League and the City of South San Francisco
in the Tournament of Champions, and,
WHEREAS, the E1 Camino High School Varsity Baseball
Team thereafter won the Tournament of Champions, which is
the Redwood Invitational Baseball Tournament held annually
at Albert's Field, San Rafael, California, in which seven
League Champions participated, to wit:
E1 Camino
De Anza
Samuel Ayer
Redwood
St. Elizabeth's
Monterey
College Park
(North Peninsula League Champions)
(Alameda County Athletic League Champions)
(Mt. Hamilton Athletic League Champions)
(Marin County Athletic League Champions)
(Catholic Athletic League Champions)
(Monterey Bay League Champions)
(Diablo League Champions)
and established themselves as Tournament Champions by the
following scores:
and,
E1 Camino 6 De Anza 3
E1 Camino 3 Redwood 0 (semi-finals)
E1 Camino 7 St. Elizabeth's 2 (finals)
WHEREAS, the E1 Camino High School Varsity Baseball Team
also won the Easter Tournament which is an annual Easter Base-
ball Tournament held at South San Francisco Orange Memorial Park,
co-sponsored by the Enterprise-Journal and Kiwanis Club, in
which eight teams participated, to wit:
E1 Camino High School
South San Francisco High School
St. Ignatius High School (San Francisco)
Sacred Heart High School (San Francisco)
Balboa High School (San Francisco)
Berkeley High School (Berkeley)
Vallejo High School (Vallejo)
Richmond High School (Richmond)
and established themselves as Champions by the following
winning scores:
E1 Camino 2 Valle jo 1
E1 Camino 3 Balboa 2
E1 Camino 3 Richmond 2
and,
WHEREAS, the E1 Camino High School Varsity Team for
1965 for the first time in the history of the City won
three championships, thereby winning acclaim as triple Champ-
ions and the top-rated Number One High School baseball team
in Northern California, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San Fran-
cisco desires to recognize the teams achievements and com-
mend the coach, members of the team and managers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of South San Francisco that the members of said
Council share with the 1965 E1 Camino High School Varsity
Baseball Team pride in the teams accomplishment of winning
the Redwood Invitational Baseball Tournament, the North
Peninsula League Championship and the annual Easter Baseball
Tournament, thereby establishing the team as triple Champions,
and do commend the Coach, Members of the Team and Managers
whose names are listed below for their achievement:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall be
made part of the permanent records of the City of South
San Francisco and a copy of this Resolution be issued to
the Coach, each Member of the Team and Managers.

regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of
the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the 7th day of s June
