HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 4302-1965RESOLUTION NO. 4302 A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR SEALED PROPOSALS CABOT, CABOT & FORBES INDUSTRIAL PARK, UNIT NO. 1 RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of South San Francisco~ California, that WHEREAS, the said Council did~ on the 18th day of May~ 196~ adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 3939 to order the construction of grading, paving~ curbs~ gutters, sanitary sewers~ domestic water~ storm water~ lighting~ fire alarm and other works and facilities in said City, all as more particularly described and set forth in said Resolute_on of Intention~ as amended~ and WHEREAS, as an auxiliary to said improvements, it is necessary that the Council order the cleaning of a partially clogged storm drain beginning at the catch basin located at the southeast corner of the intersection of East Grand Avenue and Littlefield Avenue extending southerly along the east side of Littlefield Avenue approximately 755 feet, thence proceeding easterly to its terminus at its outfall into the bay approximately 782 feet consisting of the following sections of pipe between structures: 50 lineal feet of 30" R.C.P., 189 lineal feet of 30" R.C.P., 83 lineal feet of 30" R.C.P., 433 lineal feet of 33" R.C.P., 342 lineal feet of 42" R.C.Po~ 310 lineal feet of ~2" R.C.P., 45 lineal feet of 42" R.C.P., and 85 lineal feet of 42" R.C.P., all in said City$ NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as follows: 1. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish once a week for two weeks in the South San Francisco Enterprzse-Journal, a newspaper published and circulated in said City¢ a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for said work~ the first of which publications shall be at ~ least fourteen days prior to the time fixed for opening bids. 2. Ail proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check payable to the order of the City amounting to ten percent of the bid, or by a bond in said amount and payable to said City signed by the bidder and a corporate surety or by the bidder and two sureties who shall justify before any officer competent to adminis- ter an oath, in double said amount and over and above all statutory exemptions. Said check shall be forfeited or said bond shall become payable to said City in case the bidder depositing the same does not, within fifteen days after written notice that the contract has been awarded to him, enter into a contract with the City. 3. Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the City Clerk on or before 3:00 o'clock P.M. on the 15th day of November, 1965, said time being not less than fourteen days from the time of the first publication of said notice. Bids will be publicly opened, examined and declared by the City Clerk on said day and hour, in the office of the City Manager, and referred to and considered by the City Council at its meeting at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on said day. 4. The wage scale as set forth in the exhibit hereto attached and made a part hereof is hereby established and adopted as the pre- vailing rate of per diem wa~s for work of a similar character to that above described in the locality in which such public worx is proposed to be performed. 5. Not less than said prevailing rate of per diem wages shall be paid for any of said work proposed to be performed hereunder. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at an adjourned regular meeting held this 25th day of October, 1965, by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Frank Bertucelli, Patrick E.
