CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE PROGRAM EN-
TITLED "A COMMUNITY REBELLION TO ACHIEVE
SAFE HIGHWAYS" IN RESPONSE TO A REQUEST
BY JUDGE F. J. DeLARIOS
WHEREAS, the Holiday Season now approaching should
be a season of rejoicing, of reunion, and of spiritual
renewal, and
WHEREAS, the slaughter and maiming of human beings
and the senseless destruction of property on our streets
and highways results in grinding pain, sudden and crushing
deprivation of loved ones, and senseless inconvenience and
expense for hundreds of people in our area each year during
the Holiday Season, and
WHEREAS, it appears that a mobilization of substan-
tially all the citizens in this community to participate
in a program of highway safety could effect a decrease in
the toll taken by traffic collisions, and
WHEREAS, this City has been invited to join in a
CRASH program - a Community Rebellion To Achieve Safe High-
ways - to mobilize its citizens for the purpose of reducing
to the absolute minimum the human and monetary costs of
traffic collisions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that all persons in
the City of South San Francisco are urged to join in this
CRASH program and to direct every effort in assisting law
enforcement personnel and other users of the streets
and highways to achieve a significant reduction in the
anticipated number of traffic collisions predicted for
this Holiday Season; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said persons are urged
to participate in such CRASH program for at least the
period from Thanksgiving Day through New Year's Day.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of
the City of South San Francisco at a reqular
meeting held on the 15th day of November
19 65 , by the following vote:
