HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 4368-1966 RESOLUTION NO. 4368 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ENGINEERS AND ATTORNEYS CABOT, CABOT & FORBES INDUSTRIAL PARK, UNIT NO. 1-A CARLTON COURT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, California, that WHEREAS, this Council has determined to undertake pro- ceedings pursuant to appropriate special assessment and assess- ment bond acts for the acquisition and construction and fi- nancing of public improvements in said City; WHEREAS, the public interest and general welfare will be served by appointing and employing engineers and attorneys for the preparation and conduct of said proceedings and work iu connection with said acquisitions and improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as follows: 1. That Wilsey, Ham & Blair, San Mateo, California, be appointed and employed as Engineer of Work to do and perform all engineering work necessary in and for said proceedings, including ali. preliminary surveying, preparation of plans, profiles~ specifications, estimate of costs, diagram, assess- ment, setting grade stakes, supervision of work, preparing, signing and filing the list of unpaid assessments, and that its compensation be, and it is hereby fixed, at the customary amount paid therefor by the City, to be assessed as an inci- dental expense of said proceedings. That the Public Works Director of said City be authorized and directed to examine and approve said engineering documents, to provide the in- spection during the progress of said work, and to certify the fact when said work is done to his satisfaction, and that the actual cost thereof shall be assessed upon said district as an incidental expense of said proceedings. 2. That the law firm of Wilson, Jones, Morton & Lynch, San Mateo, California, be appointed and employed to do and perform all legal services required in the conduct of said proceedings, including the preparation of all papers, exclu- sive of printing, not required to be prepared by the Engineer, examining and approving the engineering documents and advising the engineers in the preparation of their work, advising all City officials on all matters relating thereto when called upon, assisting in the sale of the bonds to be issued upon the unpaid assessments thereof, and furnishing their legal opinion as to the validity of said proceedings and bonds, and that their compensation be fixed at ~wo per cent (2%) of the cost of said acquisitions and improvements, exclusive of incidental expenses, to be assessed as an incidental expense of said proceedings. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held this 7th day of February, 1966, by the following vote: AYES, COUNCII~EN Frank J.
