HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 4374-1966 RESOLUTION NO. ~37~ A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR SEALED PROPOSALS CABOT, CABOT & FORBES INDUSTRIAL PARK, UNIT NO. 1-A CARLTON COURT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, California, that WHEREAS, the said Council did, on the 7th day of Februarw , 1966, adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 4~69, to order the construction of grading, pavement, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, storm drainage facilities, sanitary sewer mains and appurtenances, electrolier system, street signs, monuments, barricades, and fire alarm system in said City, all as more particularly described and set forth in said Resolution of Intention; WHEREAS, the widening of Forbes Boulevard proposed to be constructed as part of the improvements in Cabot, Cabot & Forbes Industrial Park, Unit No. l, in proceedings being con- ducted pursuant to Resolution of Intention No. 3939, adopted by this Council on May 18, 1964, as amended, has not been com- pleted and it is desired to accomplish the completion of said work as part of the contract to be awarded in connection with Cabot, Cabot & Forbes Industrial Park, Unit No. l-A, as author- ized in the Petition therefor. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to publish once a week for two weeks in the South San Francisco Enterprise, a newspaper published and circulated in said City, a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the construction of said improvements, including the completion of the Forbes Boulevard widening, and referring to the plans and specifications on file in the office of said City Clerk, the first of which publications shall be at least fourteen days prior to the time fixed for opening bids. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check payable to the order of the City amouuting to teu per cent of the bid, or by a bond in said amount and payable to said City signed by the bidder and a corporate surety or by the bidder and two sureties who shall Justify before any officer competent to administer an oath, in double said amount and over and above all statutory exemptions. Said check shall be forfeited or said bond shall become payable to said City in case the bidder depositing the same does not, within fifteen days after written notice that the contract has been awarded to him, enter into a contract with the City. Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the City Clerk of this City on or before 3:00 o'clock P.M. on the Rlst day of March 1966, said time being not less than fourteen days from the time of the first publication of said notice. Bids will be publicly opened, examined and declared on said day and hour, and the results thereof reported to the Council at its meeting to be held at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the 21st day of March 1966. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held this 7th day of February, 1966, by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Frank J.
