CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE FOURTH WEEK
OF MAY, 1966, AS SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL POLICE
WEEK
WHEREAS, local Police Departments and Sherriffs'
Offices are charged with the keeping of the peace and
the preservation of order in the various communities,
and,
WHEREAS, many of the duties so performed are not
known to the general public, and,
WHEREAS, crime has been rapidly increasing through-
out the United States and places a greater burden on lo-
cal law enforcement agencies, and,
WHEREAS, all citizens should be more informed as to
the many services performed by local law enforcement
officers in order to bring about greater understanding
and cooperation on the part of the public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the fourth week
in May, 1966, be proclaimed f'Support Your Local Police
Week" in South San Francisco.
