HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 4511-1966RESOLUTION NO. 4§11 CITY COUNCIL, CITY Of SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A ILESOLUTION f~ oo~ ~ .~. ~ i<OVINo PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AUTHORIZING TP~ WORK AND CALLING BIDS FOR DREDGING COLNA CREEK ~ND TRIBU- TARIES - 1966 RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, California, that WHEREAS,~~aw~ s~ecifications providins for cer- tain improvement work have been submitted, which specifications are ennitled: "Specifications for Dredging Colma Creek and Tributaries - 1966" and, ~F~P~AS, the City Council desires to approve said plans and specifications, authorize the worm and call for sealed proposals; NOW~ THEIiEFORE~ IT IS PfEIiEBY ORDERED that: i. The plans and specifications hereinbefore named and identified are hereby approved and the worm therein provided is hereby authorized, and said plans and specifications are referred to and by this reference made a part hereof the same as if recited herein verbatim. 2. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check, payable to the order of the City of South San Francisco, in an amount equal to not less than ten per ~ant (!Ol) of the bid figure, or by a bond in said amount ] I! I drawn in favor of said City and executed by a corporate surety. Said check shall be forfeited by bidder, or said bond shall become payable to said City in case the low- est responsible bidder (or bidders) depositing the same does not, within~ the time set forth in said plans and specifications, enter into a contract with said City, the faithful performance of which shall be guaranteed by an undertakin~ in the amount of one hundred per cent (100~) of the sum bid, said undertaking being that of a corporate surety satisfactory to said City Council, and which con- tract shall be accqmpanied by a labor and materials bond of a corporate surety, also in a sum equal to one hundred per cent (100~) of the amount of said bid, as required by the provisions of Title I, Division 5, Chapter 3, of the Government Code of the State of California. In case of a forfeiture, as provided for in the preceding sentence, the defaulting bidder shall be liable to said City for any additional expense to which it may reasonably be put in connection with obtaining full and complete performance of the particular work of improvement with which this Notice to Bidders is ooncerned. 3. Bids will be received by the City of South San Francisco, California, at the Office of the City Manager of said City, City Hall, Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, California, at or before the hour of 10500 a.m. on Wednesday , the 31st day of 19 66 AuQust , said time not being less than ten (lO) days from the first publication of notice, the bids will be publicly opened, examined and declared at said time and place and award will thereafter be made by the City Council of said City to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders, subject, however, to the right of said City Council to reject any and all bids, which right is hereby reserved. NOTICE TO BIDDERS NOTICE CALLING FOR BIDS FOR THE RENTAL OF DRAGLINE EQUIPMENT FOR DREDGING SAND FROM COLMA CREEK AND TRIBUTARIES - 1966, IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids for the rental of dragline equipment, fully operated and maintained, for dredging sand from Colma Creek between 1,000 feet east of Orange Avenue and approximately 2,000 feet east of Airport Boulevard and from various tributary ditches in the City of South San Francisco will be received in the office of'the City Manager of South San Fran- cisco, City Hall, Grand Avenue and Maple Avenue, South San Francisco, California, at or before the hour of 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 1966, said time being not less than ten (10) days from the first publication of this notice. Ail bids will be publicly opened, examined and declared at said time and place. Award of contract will thereafter be made by the City Council of said City to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders, subject, however, to the right of said City Council to reject any and all bids, which right is hereby reserved. The rental of dragline equipment hereinbefore referred to consists of one or more of the 'following dragl%ne equipment, fully operated and maintained. Item 1. Rental of 1-1/2 yard dragline, per hour. Item la. Combined move-in and move-out charge for 1-1/2 yard dragline. Item 2. Rental of 3/4 yard mobile truck crane dragline,' per hour. Bidder.to bid on one or more of the above sizes of dragline equipment. Bidder to state name, age, capacity and model number of equipment and specify length of boom and size of bucket. It is estimated that there will be approximately twenty (20) days of work for each machine. The total amount of the bid and the amount of performance bond required will be estimated by multiplying the hourly rental rate by 160 hours for each machine, plus the move-in. and move-out charge, if applicable. T~e City reserves the right to award the contract to the bidder furnishing the best bid based on the type and size of machine which will result in the lowest total cost to the City. The City may award separate contracts for Item 1 - la and for Item 2 based on the lowest bid received for each item. All dredging operations are to be done under the supervision of the Director of Public Works and at the locations and in the manner specified in the specifications entitled "Specifications for Dredging Colma Creek and Tributaries - 1966". Reference is hereby made to said specifications for further particulars, copies of which may be procured from the City Clerk, upon the making of a deposit of FIVE DOLLARS ($5.00) per set, of which sum FIVE DOLLARS ($5.00) will be refunded upon the return of said plans and specifi- cations in good condition within SEVENTY-TWO (72) HOURS after the bid date. -1- All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check payable to the order of the City of South San Francisco, in an amount equal to not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid figure, or by a bond in said amount drawn in favor of said City and executed by a corporate surety.
