HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 4580-1966RESOLUTION NO. ~580 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO.3486, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ADOPTING PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS" AND IN PARTICULAR SECTION 11.O2 THEREOF BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that Section 11.02 of the Personnel Rules amd Regulations, adopted by Resolution No.3486, is hereby amended to read: Section 11.02. Sick Leave: (a) Sick leave shall not be considered as a privilege which an employee may use at his discretion, but shall be allowed only in case of necessity and actual sickness and disability. Probationary and permanent, full-time employees shall accrue sick leave with pay on the basis of one (1) work day of sick leave for every month of continuous service for a maximum of twelve (12) days in any calendar year. Sick leave need not be used within a specified leave year but may be accumulated up to a maximum of one hundred twenty (120) days. An employee who resigns or is discharged, or separat- ed from the City's service, except as otherwise herein pro- vided, shall forfeit permanently all sick leave accumulated to that date. An employee having accumulated an unused sick leave credit who dies during the time he is a permanent em- ployee of the City of South San Francisco or retires either on obtaining mandatory retirement age or after having served the required number of years to voluntarily retire as set forth in the State Employment Retirement System contract, shall be paid one (1) day's pay at said employee's daily rate of pay for each two (2) days of accumulated and unused sick leave credit, accumulated and unused as of the date of said retiremen£, death or separation. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 5th day of December 19 66 , by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Frank 3.
