HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 101-2011 RESOLUTION NO. 101 -2011 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION AWARDING THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO GRAHAM CONTRACTORS, INC. FOR THE 2011 STREET SCRUB SEAL & MICRO - SURFACING PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $596,489.50 AND AMENDING THE 2011 -2012 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $400,000. WHEREAS, staff issued a Notice Inviting Bids for the 2011 Street Scrub Seal and Micro - Surfacing Project and on August 16, 2011, received three (3) valid bids in response; and WHEREAS, Graham Contractors, Inc. of San Jose, California, was the lowest responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding the construction contract to Graham Contractors, Inc. of San Jose, California, in the amount of $596,489.50; and WHEREAS, the Project is included in the City of South San Francisco's 2011 -2012 Capital Improvement Program ( "CIP "); and WHEREAS, additional funds are required to cover the Project cost above the amount originally budgeted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby awards the construction contract for the 2011 Street Scrub Seal and Micro - Surfacing Project to Graham Contractors, Inc. of San Jose, California, in an amount not to exceed $596,489.50, conditioned on Graham Contractor's timely execution of the Project contract and submission of all required documents, including but not limited to, executed bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements, in accordance with the Project documents. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby amends the 2011 -2012 CTP budget in the amount of $400,000. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the documents on behalf of the City Council upon timely submission by Graham Contractor's signed contract and all other documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney. * * * * * I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 24 day of August 2011 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego, Pedro Gonzalez, and Karyl Matsumoto, Vice Mayor Richard A.
