HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 104-2011 RESOLUTION NO. 104 -2011 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF $20,000 IN GRANT FUNDING TO SUPPORT PROJECT READ SERVICES AND AMENDING THE LIBRARY DEPARTMENT'S 2011 -2012 OPERATING BUDGET. WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco ( "City ") Library Department established Project Read to assist adults and their families in reaching literacy goals; and WHEREAS, the Kaiser Permanente Community Foundation awarded a grant to the City in the amount of $20,000 to fund Project Read's Health Literacy and Learning Wheels programming; and WHEREAS, staff recommends the acceptance of the grant funding in the amount of $20,000 from the Kaiser Permanente Community Foundation to support the services by Project Read; and WHEREAS, the foregoing grant funds will be used to amend this year's operating budget of the Library Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby accepts $20,000 in grant funding from the Kaiser Permanente Community Foundation and amends the Library Department's 2011 -2012 Operating Budget in order to reflect an increase of $20,000. * * * * * I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 24 day of August 2011 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego, Pedro Gonzalez, and Karyl Matsumoto, Vice Mayor Richard A.
