UIFICATIONS, AU~IiORIZING TI~ WORK AND ~ING BIDS FOR PAI~ING ~D ~TE~R~FING CE~ FI~ STATION-~DEN A~ AT ~P~SS A~ RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, California, that WHEREAS, plans and specifications providing for cer- tain improvement work have been submitted, which plans and specifications are encitled~ "Painting and Waterproofing Central Fire Station - Baden Avenue at Cypress Avenue, South San Fran- cisco. California" and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires Co approve said plans and specifications, authorize the work and call for sealed proposals; NOW, TILgI~_.FOP, E, IT IS ItERKBY ORDERED that: 1. The plans and Specifications hereinbefore named and identified are hereby approved and the work therein provided is hereby authorized, and said plans and specifications are referred co and by thio reference made a part hereof the same as if recited herein verbatim. 2. The City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to publish by two (2) consecutive insertions in the "Enter- prise-Journal", anewspaper published and circulated in said City, a notice inv~tin~ sealed proposals or bids for said work in accorda0ce with the plans and specifications herein- before named and identified and on file in the Office of the City.Clerk, the first of which publication shall be aC least ten (lO) days prior Co the time fixed for opening bids. A copy o£ said notice entitled "Notice ~o Bidders" is attached hereto and referred to and by this reference made a part hereof as if set forth verbatim herein. All Proposals or bids shall be. accompanicd by a cashier~s or certified check, payable to the order o~ the City of Sou~h San Francisco, in an amount equal to not less tb~n ten per. cent (10~) of the bid figure, or by a bond in said amount dra~m in £avor of said City and executed by a corporate surety. Said check shall bo for£eited by bidder, or said bond shall become payable to said City in case the low- est responsible bidder (or bidders) depositing the same does not, within the time aec forth in said plans and specifications, enter into a contract with said City, the £aithful performance'o[ which shall be §uaranteed by an_ undertakin~ in the amount of one hundred per cent (100~) of the sum bid. said undcrtakin5 bele§ that of a corporate surety satis£actory to said City Council, and which con- tract shall be accompanied by a'labor and .~terials bond of a corporate surety, also in a sum equal to one hundred per cent (100~) of the amount o£ said bid, as required by the provisions o£ Title I, Division 5, Chapter 3, o£ the 6overnment Code of the State of Cali£ornia. All said work is to be done at the places and in the particular locations, and in accordance with the forms, sizes, dimensions, and materials and;to the lines and grades, and in conformance to the pro- files, detailed drawings, and specifications therefor which have heretofore been approved and adopted by said City Council and which are presently on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city. Reference is hereby made to said plans, profiles, detailed drawings, and specifications for. further particulars, copies of which may be procured from said City Clerk upon the making of a deposit of TEN DOLLARS ($10,00 ) per set, of which sum FIVE DOLLARS ($ 5,00 ) will be refunded upon the return of said plans and specifications in good condition within SEVEI~TY-TWO (72) HOURS after the bid date: All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier ts, or certified, check payable to the order of the City of South San Francisco, in an amount equal to not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid figure, or by a bond in said amount drawn in favor of said City and-executed by a corporate surety.
