HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 4677-1967RESOLUTION NO, 4677 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING INTENTION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SAN MATEO COUNTY CONVENTION AND TOURISM PROGRAM WHEREAS, San Mateo County has'for a number of years participated in the cost of promotional activities of lo- cal Chambers of Commerce, including that of South San Fran- cisco, and W~EREAS, the County has undertaken and expanded a County-wide promotional program to attract and develop conventions and tourism, and W~EREAS, this program of promotion will be under the direction of the San Mateo County Fair and Convention Asso- ciation, staffed by personnel now serving the County Fair Board, and WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo has proposed to par- tially finance the promotion program with allocations made from transient occupancy taxes now levied and collected by cities in the County of San Mateo, and WHERF~S, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco and members of the Board of Directors of the Cham- ber of Commerce have been informed of the proposed content of the promotional program and appraised of the benefits to the City; NOW, TMEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that: 1. The City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby expresses its intent to participate in the proposed convention and tourism program by allocating therefor during the fiscal year 1967-68 twenty-five percent (25%) of the transient occupancy tax collected in the City of South San Francisco, pursuant to Ordinance No. 554 , until the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,O00) has been so allocated, which sum shall be the maximum amount of the City's parti- cipation for said fiscal year. 2. The City Manager is authorized to make said allocations to the appropriate City account for remittance to the County-of San Mateo. 3. A report shall be submitted to the Council on or before the 30th day of June, 1968, informing the Council of the progress of the program. 4. The City Clerk is authorized to send a copy of this Resolution to the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County.
