STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) ) ss COUNTY OF SAN MATEO ) TO: THE HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO I, Arthur A. Rodondi, City Clerk of the City of South San Francisco, a municipal corporation, certify that in accordance with Elections Code Sections 3707 and 4054, I have examined the referendum petition filed on the 13th day of July, 1977, protesting the adoption of Resolution No. 81-77, adopted on June 15, 1977, entitled "A Resolution Authorizing Exe- cution of (1) An Agreement with the San Mateo County Harbor District and (2) An Agreement for Consulting Engineering Services," with the follow- ing results: 1. The petition, consisting of two hundred four (204) sections, filed on July 13, 1977, contained signatures ranging from one (1) per section to fifteen (15) per section. One hundred sixty-eight (168) sec- tions were examined in accordance with the Elections Code, resulting in a determination that two thousand six (2,006) qualified registered voters signed said sections in accordance with the Elections Code, which is more than ten percent (10%) of the voters of the City according to the County Clerk's last official Report of Registration to the Secretary of State, which report established the number of registered voters at that time as eighteen thousand three hundred fifty-eight (18,358). The number of qualified signatures being sufficient within the meaning of Sections 3707 and 4054 of the Elections Code, the remaining thirty-six (36) sec- tions of the petition, containing four hundred thirty (430) signatures, were not examined.
