Call to Order. TIME: 2:30 p.m.
Roll Call. PRESENT: Mayor Gupta and Councilmember Addiego.
Public Comments.
None.
ABSENT
None.
1. Motion to approve the Minutes of the meeting of March 13, 2017.
Mayor Gupta and Councilmember Addiego duly approved the above identified minutes by motion.
2. Proposed residential parking permit program. (Justin Lovell, Public Works Administrator)
Administrator Lovell presented the item to the committee members. He explained the
recommendation for the City Council to propose a framework with neighborhood implementation.
He discussed the need for an additional parking enforcement officer. He requested feedback on the
number of permits per residence, per parking zone and how much to charge for permits.
The standing committee members asked questions to staff and made comments regarding the
significance of the project.
Standing committee members agreed that a solution was necessary but preferential parking was not
the solution. It was suggested that the Police Department flag areas in need of permit parking;
determine additional parking and add free shuttles; and consider emergency safety issues. The
committee determined to share its concerns with the entire Council.
Adjournment.
Being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 3:11 p.m.
