The City Council of the Cit~· of South San Francisco do ordain as follows: Section 1. Section 51 of Ordinance LTO. 21 Of the City of South San ~rancisco entitled, "Jua ordinance providin,~ a system for the assessment, levy and Collection of all Citj? taxes in the City of South San Francisco", passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San ~rancisoo on the !gth day of April, 1909, is hereby am, ended so that said Section ~1 shall, as amended, read as fo 11 ows: Section 31: The Board of Trustees must, on the first Tues- day after the first I~onday in September of each year, fix the rate of city taxes, providing therein especially for the Payment of any bonded indebtedness of the city and the accrued interest thereon, as the same shall become payable, and designating the number of cents on each hund- red dollars of property levied for each fund; and ~ust then levy the city taxes upon the taxable property in the city. / Section £. Section Z5 of said Ordinance ~o. E1 is hereby amen&ed so that said Section SS shall, as amended, read as follows: Section ~5: Within ten days after the receipt of the assessment-roll, the Ta~ Collector must publish a notice in some newspaper published in said City of South San Francisco, or if none is published therein, he shall post the same in three public places in the City specifying: -1- 1. That the taxes on all personal property secured by real property, and one-half of the taxes on all real property, will be due and payable on the third Tuesday in October, and will be delinquent. on the fifth day of DeCember next thereafter, at six o'clock P.M., and that unless paid prior thereto, ten per cent will be added to the amount thereof, and that' if said one-half be not paid before the £0th day in ~pril next, at five o'clock ?.I~,~., an additional five per cent will be added thereto. That the remaining one-half of the taxes on all real property will be payable on and after the 20th day of Jannary next and ~,Jill be delinquent on the 20th day in ~'~pril next thereafter, at five o'clock P.~,,~., and that unless paid p~'io~~ thereto, five per cent will be added to the amount thereof. 2. That all taxes may be paid at the tifae the first install- ment, as herein provided, is due and payable. That the taxes on all personal property unsecured by real property are due, and payable be- tween the second ],[onday in October and the last ~'~onday in November. 3. The times and places at which payment of taxes may be made. The notice in every case, must be published for two weeks in some wee~mly or daily ne~'~spaper published in the city, if there is one; or if there is not, then by posting it in three public places in the city. Section 3. This ordinance shall be published once in "The Enterprise and the South ~an ~rancisco Journal", a weekly newspaper printed and published in the City of South 5m~ ~'rancisco, and shall take effect and be in force from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days, after its adoption. -o-o-o-o-o-o- Introduced this 6th day of July, 19Z1.
