f~OPTIi,~G THE Ui,~IFO~ BUI~ING CODE 1940 ~ITION. ':.~
~AS the Unifo~ Building Code 1940 Edition has been
printed as a code in book form and is ~o~ as ~nifo~ Building
Code 1940 Edition-~, which is the buildi~ code adopted by the
Pacific Coast Building Officials' Conference at the Sixth ~ual
Meeting October, 1927, with Revisions ~d Additions Approved at
the 17th ~ual Meeting October, 1939;

Francisco do o~ain as follows:
Section 1. That certain building code kno~ and desi~ated
as ~nifo~ Building Code 1940 ~ition~ is hereby adopted for the
purpose of re~lating the construction of b~i~tdings within said
~ity of South San Fr~cisco, three (3 )les of said Unifo~
Building Code having ~ filed ~d examination by the
public in the office of the ci' clerk of said City of South San
Fr~ci sec.
Section 2. Strict with the terms and provisions
of said Uniform Code is required in all building con-
struction work s~ City of South San Francisco, to which work
said Unifo~ ~g Code is applicable.
Sectio~ Every person, firm or co~oration who shall

violate ~y/'of he provisions of this o~in~ce or said Unifo~
~ilding C be deemed ~ilty of a misdeme~or and, upon

conviction .ereof, shall be punished by a fine not exceed~g
Three H~dred Dollars ($300.00), or by imprisonment for a period
not exceeding three (3) months, or by both such fine and imprison-
merit, ~hing in said Uniform Building Code to the contra~
notwithstanding.
Section 4. This o~inance shall be published once in
"The Enterprise", a weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed

and published in said City of South San Francisco and shall take
effect and be in force from and after the expiration of thirty
C~0) days after its adoption.

Passed end adopted as an ordinance of the City of South San
Francisco, this _ ~ day of July, 19~0, at a regular meeting of
the city council of said City of South San Francisco, by the follow-
ing vote:
