HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 605-1970Rotary Plaza Annexation ORDINANCE NO o 605 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED "ROTARY PLAZA ANNEXATION~' TO THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO. BE IT OP~AINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO: WHEREAS, on the ~th day of May , 19 70 , the Council of the City of South San Francisco did pass and adopt Resolution No. $312 giving nOtice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of South San Francisco, said territory being therein designated as "Rotary Plaza Annexation", said Resolution describing the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed, and WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 5312 did contain a notice of the day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City would hear protests made by any person owning real property within the territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing being not less than forty (40) nor more than sixty (60) days from the date of passage of said Resolution, and WHEREAS, on the 15th day of June , 19.~ at the hour of 8:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California, said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No.5312 for hearing protests to the said annexation, ~he said City Council did hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did determine that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the privately-owned territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assess- ment roll, nor by public o~ers of one-half of the Value of the publicly-owned territory proposed to be annexed as deter- mined by said legislative body, and WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of South San Francisco and is uninhabited territory in the County of San Mateo, State of California, and WHEREAS, the owners of said territory have given and executed their written consent as provided by law that the property within the annexed territory shall upon annexation be taxed and subject to taxation to pay any indebtedness or liability of the City of SoUth San Francisco contracted prior to or existing at the time of annexation on the same basis as property is taxed throughout said City, which written consent is presently on file with the City Clerk of said City° NOW, THEREFOP~, the said Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of South San Francisco, and does hereby further ordain that the said ter- ritory be and is hereby annexed to the City of South San Francisco and is designated "Rotary Plaza Annexation". That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of South San Francisco is herein approved, is all that territory situate in the County. of San Mateo, State of California, more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at the most Northerly corner of Block ,let- tered "E" as shown on that certain map entitled "Map No. 1 Country Club Park, San Mateo County, California" filed in the office of the County Recorder of San Mateo County on May 9, 1941 in Book 23 of Maps at pages 54 to 56; thence running from said point of beginning, South 58° 45' West, along the Northwesterly line of said sub- division 305.00 feet to a point in the center line of "B" Street (now known as Blondin Way), as said street is sho~ on the above-mentioned map; said point being in the boundary of the City of South San Francisco, as said boundary was established by said city Ordinance No. 478, passed and adopted May 7, 1962; thence running along said boundary North 31° 15' West 242.64 feet and North 45° 11' 15" West 163o2 feet to the Northwest line of lands conveyed by Deed recorded in Book 3196 O.R. Page 130 (39101-P) San Mateo Records; thence leaving said city boundary and running along said Northwest line, North 27° 45' East 375 feet, more or less, to the Southwest line of lands conveyed by Parcel "B" in that certain Deed to the County of San Mateo, recorded July 14, 1961 in Book 4018 of Official Records at page 437 (File No. 75997-T), Records of San Mateo County, California; thence running along said last mentioned Southwest line, South 31° 15' East 201.37 feet; thence on and along the arc of a curve to the left, tangent to the last mentioned course, having a radius of 443.65 feet, a central angle of 14° 02' 11", a distance of 108o68 feet to point of reverse curve, a radial line to said point bears North 44° 42' 49" East; thence on the arc of a curve to the right having a radius of 393°65 feet, a central angle of lO 55' 24", a distance of 13.21 feet to the Northeasterly line of lands first above mentioned (39101-P); thence running Southeasterly, along~the North- easterly line, along the arc of a curve to the left, from a tangent whiCh bears South 1o 08' 13" West, having a radius of 40 feet, a central angle of 68° 2' 43", a distance of 47.50 feet; thence on the arc of a curve to the right, with a radius of 40 feet, a central angle of 25° 46' 28", a distance of 17.99 feet to the North- westerly corner of lands described in Parcel "A" in that certain Deed to the County of San Mateo above mentioned (75997-T); running thence along the Southwesterly 0 line of said last mentioned lands, along the arc of a curve to the right, having a tangent of North 34° 22' West, a radius of 393.65 feet, a central angle of 3° 07', a distance of 21.41 feet to the Northeasterly line of lands first above mentioned (39101-P);~running thence along said Northeasterly line, South 31v 15' East 32.46 feet to the Northerly corner of lands con- veyed by that certain Deed to Corporation of the Pre- siding Bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, recorded May 16, 1957 in Book 3220 of Official Records at page 165 (File No. 51474-P), Records of San Mateo County, California; running thence along the Northeasterly line of said last mentioned lands, South 31° 15' East 156 feet to the point of beginning. Introduced this 15th day of June , 1970. Passed and adopted as an ordinance of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this 20th day of July , 1970, by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Patrick E.
