AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CF~%PTER 15.12 OF THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADOPT T~ UNIFOR~ PLUMBING CODE, 1985 EDITION,
AND TO REPEAL T~E UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1976 EDITION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Chapter 15.12 of the South San Francisco
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 15.12.010 Uniform Plumbing Code, 1985
Edition, adopted by reference.
The Uniform Plumbing Code, 1985 Edition, published by
the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical
Officials, as modified by the amendments, additions and deletions
set forth hereinafter, is hereby adopted by reference as the
Plumbing Code of the City of South San Francisco, and may be
cited as such.
Section 15.12.020 Amendments, General.
Set forth below are the amendments, additions and
deletions to the Uniform Plumbing Code, 1985 Edition. Section
numbers used herein are those of the Uniform Plumbing Code.
Section 15.12.030 Violations and Penalties.
Section 20.3 Violations and Penalties: Any person,
firm or corporation violating or causing or permitting the
violation of any of the provisions of this code shall be guilty
of an infraction and, upon conviction thereof, shall be subject
to payment of a fine not to exceed the limits set forth in
California Government Code Section 36900.
In addition to the remedies provided above, any
violation of this code shall be and is hereby declared to be a
public nuisance and may be abated as such through appropriate
civil proceedings.
The remedies provided for herein shall be cumulative
and not exclusive.
The issuance or granting of a permit or approval of
plans and specifications shall not be deemed or construed to be a
permit for, or an approval of, any violation of any of the
provisions of this code. No permit presuming to give authority
to violate or cancel the provisions of this code shall be valid,
except insofar as the work or use which it authorized is lawful.
The issuance or granting of or approval of plans shall
not prevent requiring the correction of errors in the plans and
specifications or from preventing construction operations being
carried on thereunder when in violation of this code or of any
other ordinance or from revoking any certificate of approval when
issued in error.
Every permit issued under the provision of this code
shall expire by limitation and become null and void, if the work
authorized by such permit is not commenced within 120 days from
date of issuance of such permit, or if the work authorized by
such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the work
is commenced for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days.
Before such work can be recommended a new permit shall be first
obtained.
Section 15.12.040 Schedule of Fees.
Section 20.7 Schedule of Fees: The schedule of fees
in Section 20.7 only is hereby deleted and replaced by the City's
Master Fee Schedule.
Section 15.12.050 Materials.
Section 1004. Materials. Ail references to PB and
CPVC water pipe are deleted since PB water pipe is prohibited by
state law.
SECTION 2.
The Uniform Plumbing Code 1976 Edition (South
San Francisco Municipal Code Sections 15.12.010 through
15.12.130), as enacted by Ordinance 757-78, and any other
ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 3. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE
After the introduction of this ordinance, pursuant to
Government Code Section 50022.3, notice of a public hearing to be
held on April 8, 1987 shall be published once a week for two
successive weeks in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of
general circulation in the City of South San Francisco. Upon
adoption, this ordinance shall be published once, as required by
law, and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after
the date of its adoption.

at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
South San Francisco, held on the 13th day of May ,
