AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 20.74.060 AND
20.74.070 OF THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL
CODE TO ALTER THE PARKING REQUIREMENTS FOR
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT USES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Subsection (e) of Section 20.74.060 of the South San Francisco
MuniCipal' C~de is hereby amended to read:
Section 20.74.060 Commercial uses.
The number of off-street parking spaces required for commercial uses shall
be no less than the following:
(e) Research and Development. One for each two hundred and
fifty gross square feet of floor area up to fifty thousand square
feet; plus three for every one thousand square feet of gross floor
area over fifty thousand square feet. A reduction from this standard
may be granted in certain circumstances, subject to approval of a use
permit and with a parking demand analysis approved by the city engineer.
SECTION 2. Subsection (c) of Section 20.74.070 of the South San Francisco
Municipal C6'de is hereby amended to read:
Section 20.74.070
Industrial uses.
The number of off-street parking spaces required for industrial uses shall
be no less than the following:
(c) Research and Development Manufacturing: One space for every
three hundred gross square feet of floor area up to fifty thousand square
feet, plus one space for every four hundred gross square feet of floor area
over fifty thousand square feet. A reduction from this standard may be
granted in certain circumstances, subject to approval of a use permit and
with a parking demand analysis approved by the city engineer.
SECTION 3.
Publication and Effective Date
This ordinance shall be published once, with the names of those City Council
members voting for or against it, in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of
general circulation in the City of South San Francisco, as required by law, and
shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.
