HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1095-1991ORDINANCE NO. 1095-91 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2.20.010, 2.20.020, AND 2.20.030 RELATING TO BONDS OF PUBLIC OFFICES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Amending 2.20.010. 2.20.020 AND 2.20.30 Sections 2.20.010, 2.20.020 and 2.20.030 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code are hereby amended to read: "2.20.010. City clerk and treasurer. Before entering upon the duties of their respective offices, the city clerk and city treasurer shall each execute a bond to the city for a penal sum recommended by the city attorney and fixed by resolution adopted by the city council, and which penal sum may be changed during their terms of office by such recommendation and adoption of resolution procedure. Bonds shall conform to the provisions of the Government Code relating to bonds of public officials. "2.20.020. Other officers and employees. The city council may require bonds of any other officer or employee of the city upon adoption of a resolution designating such officer or employee by title. Such designated officers or employees shall execute bonds to the city assuring the faithful performance of duties of their office, for a penal sum recommended by the city attorney and fixed by resolution adopted by the city council, and which penal sum may be changed during their appointment in office by such recommendation and adoption of resolution procedures. Bonds shall conform to the provisions of the Government Code relating to bonds of public officers. 2.20.030. Approval and filing of bonds. The city council shall approve all bonds, and when approved, the city clerk's bond shall be filed with the mayor, and other bonds shall be filed with the city clerk." SECTION 2. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE This ordinance shall be published once, with the names of those City Council members voting for or against it, in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of South San Francisco, as required by law, and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption. Introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, held the 13th day of February , 1991.
